More about Teresa...

Writing was my first career; however, a diabetes diagnosis in my family became the catalyst for directing my second career to the field of nutrition. Before, when I heard “diabetes”, I was filled with fear. Food became a source of anxiety. I did my research, began learning what I could, met with specialists, and attended support groups with loved ones, but I was still missing a key component: an individualized, personal approach to a sustainable health plan.

Learning about diabetes and its close link to nutrition became paramount for me, so I returned to school for an advanced degree in Nutrition. At the height of my grad-school efforts, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune thyroid condition and discovered I had a sensitivity to gluten that gave me horrible migraines and wreaked havoc on my digestive system.

I graduated from Bastyr University with a Master’s degree in Nutrition, and completed

a rigorous dietetic internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching

hospital of Harvard Medical School, in Boston, MA.

Now, when clients face the challenge of diabetes, food allergies and sensitivities,

autoimmune diseases, or other chronic conditions, I feel so much empathy for

them because I have successfully walked similar path, from the uncertainty of
a diagnosis to the empowered confidence of making more meaningful choices for

improved health and quality of life for the long term.

This confidence of knowing what foods to eat, heal, and restore your body, even when you don’t have much time to enjoy the “perfect” meal, is possible for you, too. We’ll work together to focus you on your health by making an individualized and sustainable plan that will empower you to integrate nutritious foods into your lifestyle. These nourishing choices will cultivate a foundation of balance for you and your body. We’ll collaborate to build realistic, attainable solutions to meet your immediate nutritional needs and support your long-term health goals.
